lucy in the sky with diamonds

just to give you an example of my art work. please don't mind the not-so-amazing photography, i had to take it with my phone. these are the only two i've done in this style; incorporating my drawings into the paintings. i love drawing bodies, and i never knew what to do with them once i'd finished them.
'ecstasy'.

part of 'discover'.

let me know what you think, or if you have any advice, that would all be greatly appreciated!
i'm listening to the beatles and working on another painting, a different style, which i'm going to call 'destiny'. i'll post a picture as soon as it's done!
i hope everyone is having a lovely monday!

in my heart is shows

isn't this fantastic? i came accross it just now while trying to find something to paint. it's posted by audrey083053.

i surely don't know

okay, here's the thing. my laptop died, so now i have to use my mom's computer. the problem? i can only use it when she doesn't need it, and i don't have any of my pictures. also, the layout shows up differently on my mom's computer... it's really weird. so, i'll post when i can, and please, try to look past the shorts blogs and weird layouts.

i forgot to mention yesterday an artist i really liked who i saw my last day in gloucester. his name is george anderson. here is my favorite of all his pieces;

i met him while looking at his work, and it turns out he's from near where i live, and sailed at the local yatch club! it's a small world, that's for sure.

i'm currently waiting for paint to dry. i was so inspired while in gloucester. they should be done by tonight, so i'll borrow my dad's camera and post them. the picture may be bad quality, but you'll get the main idea. the one i'm really excited about is called ecstasy.

i'm afriad that'll be all for now. i hope everyone has had a lovely weekend.

xxo.

spare me your dirty looks

hello lovelies!

after sitting in the car for 8 hours, i'm finally home. thoroughly exhausted with a sore bum. while away, i managed to get a bit of a tan! (i say a bit because i hardly ever tan. it's only recently that's i've started 'bronzing' instead of burning.) i now have a healthy glow, and my freckles are becoming more and more prominent.

while in gloucester, my family and i went to the rocky neck art colony. it really is an artists colony. walking around, you pass a gallery every few buildings. i was in heaven!

my favorite gallery was definately one called imagine. the owner/artist is brenda malloy. all her work is incredibly original, and exactly my style. she wasn't there when i first entered the gallery/shop, and my brother noticed that she had the honesty policy going on. there was a basket, and if you bought something, you put the right amount in the basket and wrote what you'd bought. she completely trusted people she's never met. doesn't that make you want to trust the world?

anyways, before she showed up, i decided to write her a note about how inspiring she was and how i loved all her work. and then she walked in, so i stopped writing and straight out told her!

this is her studio. it's actually part of her shop!

and this is an example of her type of work. it's all about peace and love.

some of her work had shells attached, and she said that she just used anything she could find around, and made it artistic!

there was another artist i liked, diana pasquariello. her things were good, and i fell in love with one piece. i couldn't find any of her work online, but you'll have to take my word for it!

and finally, the first gallery i went into, kathleen gerdon archer, was of photographs. her work was incredible, but sadly, none of the ones i liked best are on her site. i didn't realise she was an artist as well, but i quite like this one painting!

so... here's the thing; i'm absolutely exhausted, and i'm sure this post is hardly making sense. here's what i'm going to do... i'm going to go to bed, and sleep in (first time this whole week! we've been up at 8 every morning...), then come back and double check this post even makes sense. after, i'll catch up on reading the posts by the blogs i follow since i've been gone. and after that, i'll tell you about my amazing buys today, as well as having a psychic reading. (i don't know how you word that... i had a psychic reading/i went to a psychic reading/i witnessed a psychic reading... well, you get the idea.)

so for now, goodnight dears! i hope everyone has had an amazing week, and sleeps very well tonight.

oh, goodness me.

violence of a still life

everything by brookeshaden is fantastic, i would recommend looking at her other pieces.

just another little dream

today is my mothers birthday. while 5 kids were passed out in the living room, and two more out in a tent, (i don't understand why we're still referred to as kids, we're aged from 17 to 30, for goodness sake!) when my mom woke up, she immediately received champagne and orange juice. mhmmm. once we'd all woken up, we joined in. periodically eating bagels, chatting about the weather, and going out for a smoke.
we're always at the cottage for the first weekend of august; always around my mom's birthday. this year, she decided she didn't want us to celebrate only her birthday, so we sang happy birthday to 'all of us', and each had cupcakes. including one of the missing 'kids', who is currently living in australia. we even set her a place and the table, and cooked cupcakes for her, her boyfriend, and the daughter of her boyfriend.
while at the cottage, i started (and didn't manage to finish...) a painting. i'm hoping i'll be able to finish it soon, but who knows! i went out fishing with my dad and his close friend, the owner of the cottage, simon. my dad caught the most fish; 8. imagine! simon caught 1, and i caught 3. though, they were all smaller than the size of my fist...
so, i'm home for the night (with many bug bites... i'm itchy all over!), and leave tomorrow morning for gloucester, massachusetts. (i always manage to mispronounce and misspell that word...) i would post pictures from the cottage, but right after we took our final group shot, there was a lens error, and none of us know how to fix it. the way things are going, i may not have any pictures from gloucester for you!

anyways, let me entertain you with a little dream of mine...
after having seen the phantom of the opera again a few weeks ago, i realised that i would really like to go to a masquerade.

aren't they dashing? i would just love to attend a masquerade ball. and fall in love with a lovely boy wearing a mask... oh, just imagine.

xxo.
